Data from the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) indicates that Washington County's jobless rate fell from 8.2% in May to 6.5% in June. According to TWC Chairman Bryan Daniel, "June's labor market numbers demonstrate we are moving in the right direction. As the COVID-19 Pandemic continues to evolve, the Texas Workforce Commission is committed to adapting to the needs of our great state. Statewide unemployment rate for June is 8.6%, just over two percentage points higher than Washington County.
