Employers with part-time job vacancies are encouraged to contact Brenham|Washington County Economic Development to secure a booth at the free job fair being held Tuesday, January 25, 2022, from 11 AM to 2 PM in the Atrium of the Blinn Student Center. Part-time job seekers are welcome anytime during the job fair with no advance registration required. Job seekers should dress for an interview and bring a resume or materials necessary to complete job applications.
“As employment figures reach near pre-pandemic levels, employers are finding staff recruitment to be challenging. Many employers are tapping into the part-time workforce of students, retirees, and parents seeking flexible schedules as they fill positions across various industries,” states Director of Economic Development Susan Cates.
While the Job Fair is open to ALL applicants, Blinn College is hosting the Job Fair as Blinn students are a great source of part-time workforce. Brenham Campus Executive Dean Dr. John Turner said, “In recognition of both the importance of students having part-time employment to support their educational goals and the economic impact of Blinn on the local economy, Blinn College offers housing options for resident students employed locally during the summer months. Hopefully, this will allow for continuity for staffing for our local businesses as well as consistent employment for our student workforce.”
Sponsors are Blinn College, Brenham|Washington County Economic Development, and the Washington County Chamber of Commerce. For more information or to reserve a booth (space is limited), contact Erica Warren no later than noon on Friday, January 21, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
