Blinn College Launches Esports Program

Blinn College is launching a new Esports Program in Fall, 2020. This new esports team falls in line with Blinn College's strengths in the area of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Innovation (STEI). The relationship between Blinn College and Texas A&M University's engineering program has been recognized nationwide as a partnership that provides high-quality educational experiences that results in successful students.

Scheduled for completion in time for the Fall 2021 semester, the new science, technology, engineering, and innovation building on the Brenham Campus will provide expanded laboratory space for Blinn’s science, engineering, and health science programs, and will create space for high-demand programs in new and emerging technologies. This 72,000-square-foot facility will include approximately 17,000 square feet of laboratory space and a 3,000-square-foot innovation center.

Blinn has hired former pro gamer, Aaron Kapiko to oversee Blinn's Esports Program. Kapiko competed at both the collegiate and professional level, holds his Bachelor of Science degree in Science, Technology, and Society from North Carolina State University. Kapiko earned his coaching certification from the National Association of Esports Coaches and Directors. For more information:
